Chocolate Shopping for Your Valentine Near 30 Rock!

Monday 11th February 2013 - 2:06:33 PM

Valentine’s Day is almost here and what better excuse to do a little touring of the best New York chocolate shops? I recently did an extensive tour of the Rockefeller Center area and the chocolate options there are fantastic!

You can start at La Maison du Chocolat ( 51 West 49th Street ), the most elegant (and priciest) in the chocolate game around here.

A box of truffles from here is sure to impress and they have very nice macarons too!

From La Maison, you can enter Rockefeller Center and head downstairs to visit Jacques Torres (30 Rockefeller Plaza Concourse). One of my longtime favorites, you can’t go wrong with buying anything here, and while you’re at it, treat yourself to a Wicked hot chocolate!

Exit upstairs and head to Teuscher Chocolates (620 5th Avenue), where you can enjoy the cheerfully decorated little shop and pick up some of their famous champagne truffles!

I’m also a fan of their cute Fantasy Figure packaging!

From Teuscher, you can head East over to one of my favorite newer chocolate spots, the Neuhaus flagship (500 Madison Avenue). This spacious and elegant shop highlights Neuhaus’ wonderful Belgian chocolates and is a must visit! Hope these tips help and have a fun and chocolatey V-day!

ahhh yes the good old Rock Center area has much chocolate to choose from
I had to have the chocolate smurfs at Neuhaus shop…they were so so delish! I was thrilled Jacques Torres went in Rock Center as his other locations were not good for me to purchase and take home. Now I need chocolate
    Thank you !!
