Bakeable KitKats in NYC!

After reading about the phenomenon of Japan’s Bakeable Pudding KitKats (officially “Bake ‘N Tasty Mini KitKats Custard Pudding Flavor”) on various Jblogs, I was thrilled to come across some in New York recently. First of all, these are pudding flavored  (a flan-style pudding). Secondly, they are meant to be baked in a toaster oven, and they develop a crispy, crunchy sugar top when you bake them. An exciting development in KitKat technology!

We popped them into the toaster oven and watched as they slowly browned (two to two and a half minutes is the recommended baking time). They smelled like roasted marshmallows and Crème Brûlée. They tasted great too! If you see them, I’d definitely recommend you try these out. They’re good baked or “raw” too. So far, I’ve found them at Kam Man Food at 200 Canal St. (in Chinatown) and at Sunrise Mart’s 4 Stuyvesant St. location. Happy hunting!

    Wow! This is amazing! KitKats offered ‘frozen Kitkats’ last summer and it was good, but ‘Baked Kitkats’ looks more attractive! I will definitely try. Thank you for sharing!

    Unfortunately, I don’t know. I just keep an eye on the NYC Japanese groceries, and right now they’re out of them too. My only advice is to regularly check out your local Asian grocery stores.
