This has been quite a weekend. Two book signings, the Chile Pepper Fiesta, and the Atlantic Antic. Somehow, I’ve managed to survive all of the fun I’ve been having ^_^ Anyway, here is a photo parade from Saturday’s Chile Pepper Fiesta at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

  This being my second Fancy Food Show, I learned from last year and started from the lower floor where there were more sweets and less chance of being distracted by all the (seemingly thousands of) different types of cheeses and olives on the third floor. Now that’s what I call a real cheese cake!

I haven’t tried the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck yet, but you know at the least it will be very Pride appropriate! He posts for Sunday he will be “Near the parade, probably in the 40′s around 5th. Will update.” So check the site for updates!

For those who observe Passover, kosher for Passover candy can bring a lot of fond memories. Raspberry jelly rings, macaroons, fruit slices, that Barton’s chocolate you were encouraged to sell to your elders every year (just like girl scout cookies!).

There’s always something magical about holiday time in the city with all of the lights and festive atmosphere. Lately I was wandering down Greenwich Ave. and have come to the conclusion that it is a great place to shop for gifts!

I had a blast at the preview night and fashion show which opened this year’s Chocolate Show. To my delight, the theme was superheroes and I managed to get some shots of the yummy fashions!

The grand tasting was fun, but had a lot less in the sweets arena than I was expecting, perhaps because of the Sweet event, they focused mostly on savories. But there was still a lot of good food (and beverages) to be had and I found some sweet spots. Here is the insane Target Choxie [...]
