Last week I was invited to a performance of Food Acts, which is running Feb. 6-24th at the Lion Theater on Theater Row (410 West 42nd Street between 9th & 10th Aves.). The play, conceived and directed by Barbara Bosch, is a collection of spoken word performances adapted from various sources, all centered around food.

This week I got to attend Cheryl’s Buttercream Birthday Bonanza, a cake decorating contest held at the ICE. At the event, ICE students competed using Cheryl’s Buttercream frosting to make gorgeous cakes and cupcakes in the theme of Birthdays!

Last week I got to attend a party for cake pop company, Fabipops! It was at Ayza Wine and Chocolate Bar, a cool space I’ll have to come back to sometime. The party was a success and the pops were great!

Ladurée is coming to NYC this July to 864 Madison Avenue! Macaron and pastry fans can definitely look forward to that!

To my delight, Mad. Sq. Eats. is returning from May 6th-June 3rd! I deeply enjoyed last Fall’s run and the great food vendors including Bar Suzette, Sigmund Pretzelshop, and Stuffed Artisan Cannolis! It looks like Pies and Thighs may not be returning, but Momofuku Milk Bar’s appearance should make up for that. Yay!

LA’s famed cupcake chain Sprinkles will open in NY May 13th. In the meantime their truck will be distributing free cupcakes throughout the city May 2nd-10th. Check the map above and their twitter feed for more info!
