Last Tuesday night I attended a special ice cream social at the Hudson St. location of Jacques Torres! It was to celebrate the introduction of several exciting new ice cream flavors, just in time for the hot weather too!

I got a gracious offer from Ciao Bella to check out some of their seasonal sorbets and it was very nice indeed! I just love looking at gelato and sorbet displays don’t you? The colors alone make me so happy, but when I think of the flavors, that makes me especially excited!

I recently was invited by The Soft Serve Fruit Co. to check out their new Union Square location (25 East 17th Street at Broadway) and their signature soft serve fruit offerings. After the sadness of reporting two beloved places closing (Luxee and Divalicious Chocolate, not to mention Dessert Truck), time for some good news! Israeli gelato chain Screme has arrived in NYC!

I haven’t tried the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck yet, but you know at the least it will be very Pride appropriate! He posts for Sunday he will be “Near the parade, probably in the 40′s around 5th. Will update.” So check the site for updates!

One of my faves, L’Arte Del Gelato, will be giving out free gelato at their Chelsea Market location on June 25 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. to celebrate their new, larger, space there! Let’s flash back to the comic I did about them to celebrate! I promise there will be new comics soon!

It was so nice and warm today, the perfect time to try some sorbet, and I had some at Luxee. Here’s my fave, the Apple Basil along with a scoop of Pear Thyme. So refreshing!
