The City Sweet Tooth

Things have been pretty busy (I have some major travel and life plans happening this Fall) so I won’t be posting as often for a bit, but I wanted to put up some photos I took recently about town, so please enjoy!

Another stop I made recently while researching midtown chocolate shops was La Maison du Chocolat at 30 Rockefeller Plaza! La Maison du Chocolat is well known for having some of the finest chocolates in the City (imported from France).

This week I was invited to check out Battery Place Market, a shop that has two locations in the Battery Park / World Financial Center area. It was a welcome opportunity to check out the neighborhood and the park as I rarely get down there!

I recently was invited by The Soft Serve Fruit Co. to check out their new Union Square location (25 East 17th Street at Broadway) and their signature soft serve fruit offerings. For those who are looking for a (slightly) less guilty indulgence as the year starts, you may want to check out Chelsea’s Cocoa V. A vegan chocolate boutique, their products are vegan, organic, and fair trade (also delicious). A nice way to start 2010!

 Last night’s signing at GRNY was a blast! The staff there (especially the manager, Mark) was so helpful and nice. I have been a longtime fan of Giant Robot magazine, so signing at one of their shops was a big thrill for me!

It was so nice and warm today, the perfect time to try some sorbet, and I had some at Luxee. Here’s my fave, the Apple Basil along with a scoop of Pear Thyme. So refreshing!
