Murray’s Cheese at Chelsea Wine Vault
I thought this would be a casual mingling event, but it was more like an intensive class where each person had a set of ten wines and ten matched cheeses to taste. It was led by Liz Thorpe, VP of Murray’s Cheese and I’d recommend this to anyone wanting to learn more on cheese and wine pairing. The atmosphere was very elegant as the attendees listened attentively to everything Liz and the wine expert (sorry I didn’t get his name) had to say about the wines and cheeses. My favorite wine was predictably the Warre’s Optima, 10 Year Tawny Port. I love port and this was no exception, it went very well with it’s matched cheese Beeler Gruyere. The other cheeses that stood out for me were the Gres De Vosges (an Alsation Munster) and the Monet Enebro (a goat cheese with a rind that was blue-cheese like).
