A Look At Battery Place Market!

Tuesday 24th April 2012 - 12:56:02 PM

This week I was invited to check out Battery Place Market, a shop that has two locations in the Battery Park / World Financial Center area. It was a welcome opportunity to check out the neighborhood and the park as I rarely get down there!

While the markets have a similar setup to the delis and markets so common throughout the City, they stand out by carrying so many of NYC’s favorite local treats including Robicelli’s cupcakes!

Eileen’s Cheesecake, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, Jacques Torres Chocolate, Ceci-Cela pastries are there too, and so much more!

A nice selection of cheese and a whole section of artisanal drink mixers too!

They also have a great variety of house-made goodies including bread pudding, brownies, chocolate mousse, chocolate chip cookie and much more by Chef Robert Sckalor. Whether it’s sweets, snacks, sandwiches, or hot meals from behind the counter, he is preparing it all and it is high quality stuff! Locals are lucky to have these markets with their supply of great foods and groceries!

They used to carry these AMAZING coconut chocolate gluten-free pies. Boy, I miss those!
